Help and Documentation

How the three checkers work, and what they deliberately do not do.

Move around

On a larger screen, the navy sidebar stays open. On a phone, use the menu button at the top. Every item below opens its own page. Each module also has a Dashboard link that returns here.

Saved reports

Save report on a module stores the figures already applied to the working grid, plus the facility, reporting period, and notes you type. The save time is recorded separately from the reporting period. IndexedDB on this device keeps each version. Open a version from Saved Reports to continue editing. Save as new version keeps the earlier copy. Replace this version changes only that copy, and only after you confirm. Export JSON or CSV if you want your own file. Clearing site data, or using another browser or device, does not carry these reports. The app does not upload them. This is not a backup. A secured server, accounts, and consent would be required before reports could move between devices. That is not built.

What is actually built

Status labels are exact. “Page only” means the screen opens and stays empty. “Not built” means the service does not run, so the interface does not offer a button for it.

  • Dashboard and navigation

    Working

The dashboard opens OPD, ward, NHMIS, saved reports, help, and about. On a phone, the other pages use the menu.

  • OPD attendance

    Working

Enter or import outpatient attendance by sex, new or revisit, and age group. The calculated total is compared with the total you typed. Charts and exports use that dataset. A blank is not treated as zero.

  • Ward inpatient census

    Working

Enter or import a ward census. Expected closing equals opening plus admissions and transfers in, minus discharges, transfers out, and deaths. A mismatch is explained and the entered figure is left as typed.

  • NHMIS validation

    Working

Keep user-created indicator definitions, search them, and check a reported dataset for blanks, duplicates, invalid numbers, a zero denominator, and percentages outside 0 to 100. Example rows are labelled as examples, not official NHMIS text.

  • Saved reports

    Working

Named reports are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB database, himforward-smartstats. You can search, filter, reopen, rename, export, delete, replace one version, or save a new version. This is not a backup and it does not sync to another device.

  • Data validation

    Working

OPD compares an entered total with new, revisit, and age-group sums. The ward census compares the entered closing census with the movement formula. The indicator check looks for blanks, duplicates, invalid numbers, a zero denominator, and percentages outside range. A blank is not zero, and no tool rewrites a cell to force a balance.

  • Charts and analytics

    Working

OPD, ward, and indicator charts are drawn from the current grid. A blank cell is left out rather than drawn as zero. There is no chart until the dataset has a number that can be used.

  • Report exports

    Working

Each module downloads a CSV, an Excel XML spreadsheet, and a printable HTML report of the current dataset and its findings. A file is marked not validated while errors remain.

  • File uploads

    Working

CSV and Excel XML spreadsheets can be reviewed and applied in OPD, the ward census, and the indicator tools. Photos and PDFs can be attached on the OPD page. Reading figures from a photo needs a configured vision key and does not change the grid if that reading fails.

Where the data stays

OPD, the ward census, and the indicator reference are saved in this browser only. They are not written to a server. A synthetic demonstration is labelled as such and is separate from a dataset you type or import. Photograph reading runs only when a vision key is configured on the server. If it is not, the page says so and leaves the grid unchanged.
